Vaughn Gittin Jr. unleashes his dynamic, turnkey S550 package

If you have at all followed the Mustang in recent years, you know that one of its most omnipresent ambassadors is drifting superstar Vaughn Gittin Jr. A successful pro drifter here in the U.S. Formula Drift series as well as numerous events abroad, at his core JR is a true enthusiast. From the moment he teamed up with Ford to campaign a Mustang he set his sights on creating his own variation on the Pony car theme. Today his vision for the ready to rock S550 is revealed to the world.

“RTR’s success and reception has been pretty incredible, My dream with RTR was to offer a turnkey Mustang that came from the dealer with unique fresh aggressive looks and could easily dialed to enjoy all the things I enjoy behind the wheel, railing turns, drifting, blasting some straightaways all while having a nice ride for a daily driver and general cruising,” Vaughn recently told us of the RTR program. “I also wanted to offer high-quality, functional performance and appearance parts that offered a fresh take on styling in the Mustang world in addition to the aftermarket.”

Naturally, the advent of the latest Mustang meant that Vaughn had to reinvent the Mustang RTR program for the beginning of the Mustang’s global era.

“Ford has really done an amazing job with the new 2015 Ford Mustang. The all-new platform has very easily allowed us to mesh RTR’s tastefully-aggressive styling and modified performance to offer our most capable, best-handling fun-to-drive RTR’s to date,” Vaughn Gittin Jr. said.

Styling is where the RTR program begins with the Spec 1 receiving numerous body updates and a beautiful set of RTR wheels. However, if you want more that a sharp-looking S550, you can step up to the RTR Spec 2 and gain numerous performance upgrades. You can even opt to add a supercharger if you are so inclined.

“If the slightly modified performance of the our Spec 1 is not enough, customers that demand more are sure to get their kicks with the up to 725 horsepower and optional fully-adjustable suspension that allows the driver to easily adjust the balance of the chassis to their liking,” Vaughn added. “We feel we have developed very diverse and refined offerings, which was our number one goal to support the global release of the 2015 Ford Mustang and ensure our customers keep smiling and having fun behind the wheel of the RTR.”
