We recently previewed Vortech Superchargers’ 2015 Mustang SEMA project, and thanks to the efforts of Bowen’s Garage Ford in Eastford, Connecticut, the car finally arrived in Oxnard, California, on Tuesday October 21. If you aren’t keep score at home, that date was exactly two weeks before the opening day of The SEMA Show. As you read this the car is undergoing its transformation.
On November 1, the car’s owne, Rey Rivera, will drive his project from California to Las Vegas, Nevada, where it will lure people into the Vortech booth and appear in the frame of countless cameras. Of course, any project car worth its mods needs a name, and Rey christened his ride as the Juggernaut, which Webster defines as “a huge, powerful, and overwhelming force or institution.â€
Around the country, there are many 2015 Mustangs racing against the same deadline, but Rey has an experienced team on his side. Neil Tjin at Vortech has a long history of crafting SEMA-level vehicles and he is leading the charge on Rey’s GT.
“The car was picked up today and taken to its temporary home of Vortech Superchargers, where it will begin its transformation from a stock 2015 Mustang GT to its more-aggressive, permanent personality, codename Juggernaut,†Rey told us on Tuesday. “We are down to days to get this project completed and off to Vegas for the 2014 SEMA Auto show. Not a whole lot of time to spare, but I am more than confident in the Vortech team and Neil Tjin.â€
If you missed out on our intro story, let’s bring you up to speed. The mod list shows how the car will live up to its name:
• Vortech V3si Supercharger with intercooler and supporting mods
• Magnaflow Competition series cat-back
• Matte black Forgestar F14 wheels, 20×9.5-inch (front) and 20×11-inch (rear)
• Nitto NT05 tires, 275/35-20 (front) 315/35-20 (rear)
• Steeda coilovers
• 3d Carbon splitter
• Glow Shift boost and air/fuel gauges
• Redline Tuning hood lift kit
• Baer Brakes 6S brakes with Tjin Edition (custom Competition Orange powdercoat)
Of course, that’s just the plan for The SEMA Show. After the show, Rey will turn up the wick even higher with a V-7 YSi-Trim supercharger. And don’t worry if you can’t make it to the show, we’ll have more coverage of this build on SVTP.
Can’t wait to see this car at SEMA.
Me too! If we make it there lol
