If you are a regular SVTP Front Page reader—and shame on you if you aren’t—you know that we broke the news about the availability of Magnaflow’s lineup of cat- and axle-back exhaust systems for the 2015 Mustangs in all their powertrain flavors. What we didn’t know at the time was how much power could be gained by adding one of these systems. Now, in the case of the 2015 Mustang GT, we know the gains are big.
To refresh your memory, Magnaflow is offering full cat-back systems that replace the factory post-cat piping, resonator, and mufflers. These 3-inch, mandrel-bent systems are built from 100-percent stainless tubing and feature polished, 4.5-inch tips. Depending on how much volume you want, the systems are available in both Street and Competition versions. The Street version keeps the volume below 95 decibels, while the Competition version turns it up above 95 db.
Of course, you’ve been waiting to see a 2015 Mustang run on the dyno. Now you can see and hear one with the Magnaflow Competition cat-back and get the dyno results. Check out the video here:
The cat-backs will be available soon, but you can preorder them now from a Magnaflow retailer for $1,199. If you preorder soon, you’ll be eligible for a free Magnaflow hat (while supplies last).
Magnaflow also offers axle-back kits for those just looking to add mufflers. The retail for $760.28 and offer a similar sound.
Yeah but I find it hard to believe that box is robbing 30RWHP.
Multiple factors apply to the restriction, the piping size off the manifolds and for the whole exhaust is actually smaller than 2014, the cars have a super restrictive mufflers that are likely in place to keep it quiet for global standards, as well as the 3 muffler/resonator set up as opposed to the 2 muffler set up we are used to seeing on Mustangs.
No trickery here, no other mods were on the vehicle – bone stock with less than 30 miles on it, dynoed in 5th gear with 1:1 ratio.

Damn, that’s some nice gains. I dunno about the sound
No way a cat back is picking up 30RWHP. Something is fishy here…
That is an incredible gain…just think when you add a tune on top of that…
Sound, not sure either.
This includes a Xpipe as well. It removes that big suitcase resonator box as well.

You won’t see those types of gains with just a catback. That’s long tube header type gains.
^^^^^ This….I smell bullshit. Now, the stock intake looks a bit more restrictive in pics than the 11-14s though….
That car sounds terrible.
I need to 30HP def seems high for a cat-back system, but I guess we’ll see what happens as other manufacturers release numbers.
