We all know that the latest Shelby GT350 is a star on the road course. From a successful run in IMSA to our own experience behind the wheel of the street car, we know this car is born to carve corners. However, like most of you we were quite curious about how this performance would translate to the drag strip.

After upgrading its suspension with gear from BMR Suspension, Evolution Performance headed to Cecil County Dragway to see how quickly they could run with the stock powertrain and calibration.

Thankfully there are shops like Evolution Performance that are willing to live on the cutting edge. When Evolution took possession of its latest Mustang project, the team there verified its performance on the engine dyno and immediately upgraded the suspension with drag-ready bits from BMR Suspension.

Considering that the runs were made with a stock powertrain and a stock calibration, the results were quite impressive.

“Our 2016 Shelby GT350 ran a 11.96 at 116 mph with 325/30R-19 Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels ET Street S/S Radials and BMR Suspension Inc.,” says Evolution. “The car ran this number with the stock tune and on 93 octane.”

You can watch the run right here…

Naturally this is just the beginning for the Evolution Performance Shelby GT350, so stay tuned.

With nothing more than Mickey Thompson 325/30R-19 drag radials and BMR suspension upgrades, Evolution Performance was able to run the first 11-second pass in a new Shelby GT350.
