Livernois Motorsports puts down big power with a Whipple-blown S550

Of late weâ€™ve been seeing some huge performance numbers from modded 2015 Mustang GTs. Clearly the lessons learned and carried over from the RoadRunner engine program are working out quite nicely on the everymanâ€™s Coyote engine. Cases in point are some new dyno results from a Livernois Motorsports-tuned 2015 Mustang equipped with Whipple Superchargersâ€™ 2.9-liter supercharger system.

With the Whipple supercharge system and the stock throttle body, this 2015 Mustang picked up 285.80 horsepower and 146.79 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels. — With the Whipple supercharger system and the stock throttle body, this 2015 Mustang picked up 285.80 horsepower and 146.79 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels.

Livernois baselined the car, then installed the standardÂ Whipple supercharger kit with the stock throttle body. Then the companyÂ stepped up to Whippleâ€™s large, oval throttle body. We know positive-displacement superchargersÂ hate inlet restriction, but this testÂ makes that case quite clear.

As you can see, these results were produced on a stock car with the supercharger kit and tuning, which is quite impressive.

Swapping to the larger Whipple throttle body tacked on an additional 40.77 horsepower and 37.20 lb-ft of torque.

40HP from a throttle body. You’d be a fool not to opt for that upgrade.
