We know that if you are going to race your 2015 Mustang, a more robust halfshaft is a necessity. Once you ramp up the power and put on sticky tires, the stock ’shafts are not ready to handle that kind of abuse.
Fortunately, Ford Performance Racing Parts offers its 2015 Mustang Halfshaft Upgrade Kit (PN M-4130-M; $1,895). Built by G-Force Engineering, these ’shafts carry a lifetime warranty on the axle bars and stubs and a two-year warranty on the wear parts.
The FPRP halfshafts feature severe-duty, serviceable CV joints with CNC billet centers. The stub ends are billet, one-piece units with 34 splines on the inner ends and 32 spline stubs on the outer ends. They are also said to be built with “anti-wheel-hop” technology.
Now, Jesse Kershaw, Drag Racing Parts and Competition Manager at Ford Performance, shows why its replacement units are stronger than stock:
These units are direct replacements for the halfshafts in all the 2015 Mustangs, including the EcoBoost, V-6, and GT.
