The beauty of factory forced induction is that vehicles equipped with it respond really well to bolt-on parts and tuning. In this new era of gas-turbo direct injection engines, there is another level of easy modification—the plug-in mod.
A pioneer of this new breed of easy mods, JMS Chip & Performance offers performance devices designed to plug into your Ford and make it faster. Better yet, these mods can be stacked with one another and enhanced via an aftermarket calibration.
When it comes to the 2015 EcoBoost Mustang, JMS’s BoostMax (PN BX-6000-23; $299.00) is designed to add up to five pounds of boost, reduce turbo lag, and possibly even increase fuel mileage.
“This first of its kind digital microprocessor-controlled device incorporates a warranty-friendly theme through its simple plug and play design that allows for easy installation and removal,†says the company. “BoostMAX connects to the factory MAP and TIP sensors using OEM connectors, and is controlled via the accelerator pedal position sensor to allow for on-demand increases in low-end, mid-range and top-end power and torque.â€
You can adjust the BoostMax so it adds 0-5 pounds of boost via a remote knob. If you set the dial to the middle and take it easy on the gas pedal, JMS says you may even see an increase of up to 2 miles per gallon.
