Mustangs are popular all over Europe, but Belgians are really sweet on them

Mustang sales may have cooled a bit stateside, but the latest pony cars are still hot overseas. Apparently, they are steamy as hot chocolate in Belgium. While Germany and the United Kingdom buy a lot of performance cars, for its size Belgium has purchased a higher number of Mustangs.

Over 21,000 Mustangs have been sold in Europe, but a proportionally high 1,600 have gone to Belgian customers, ranking the smaller country fourth behind Germany, Britain and France.
“Mustang is a car that has a massive and passionate following among fans in Europe through enthusiasts’ clubs and numerous Mustang meetings,†said Laurent Charpentier, managing director, Ford Belgium. “It is a sports car like no other, one that some fans here have literally been waiting their whole lives for.â€
