There is no doubt that the new Shelby GT350 and GT350R have the best exhaust sound of any Mustang in recent memory. Thanks to an exhaust that opens up at the flick of a switch and the unique throb of the Flat-Plane-Crank 5.2, the modern Shelby roars with a sound that gets enthusiasts’ hearts racing.
The GT350 delivers that fantastic sound despite the presence of catalytic converters. While they are necessary for the street, these emissions-compliance devices can be a liability on the racetrack. They can restrict flow and even fail due to the extreme heat generated on track. Fortunately, the crew at Lethal Performance has already developed some cat-delete race pipes for the new Shelby.
Not only do these Off-Road Mid-Pipes open up the exhaust flow, but they sound pretty great too. Listen to them right here…
Expect these pipes to hit the Lethal Performance site soon. Likewise, we’ll have much more on the Lethal GT350 in the near future. For now, let’s just soak up how great the unrestrained Voodoo 5.2 sounds. And, if you want to learn more about these pipes, you can join the discussion over on our forum.
