We expect to finally see the 2016 Focus RS finally hit US pavement early next year, and the anticipation is killing us. Each piece of news along the way it stokes our excitement. From all-wheel drive and Drift Mode to 350-horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, the latest RS will debut in The States with plenty of performance. To keep us on the edge of our Recaros, Ford has put together an informing and entertaining video series on the car’s development.
Ford’s eight-part documentary , Rebirth of an Icon, follows the development of the 2016 Focus RS, and in this installment the Ford Performance engineers are striving to maximize the performance of the of the car while the manufacturing plant in Saarlouis, Germany, is readied production. You can watch the latest episode right here…
The previous episodes detailed the goals for the car; the design and crash testing of the vehicle; its preliminary road testing; some track testing by none other than Ken Block, and cold-weather testing on a frozen lake in Sweden. In the coming weeks the series will continue with an episode each week and they will play out as follows:
- Episode 7: Close scrutiny—The day of the critical sign-off drive follows Ken Block’s headline appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
- Episode 8: Final chapter—It’s time for the nail-biting management review
Of course, will keep sharing each episode on the SVTP Front Page so you don’t miss out.
