It’s Coming!
Ford Performance teases a Whipple-supercharged S550 Cobra Jet Mustang
By Steve Turner
Since the 2015 Mustang debuted, Ford fans have daydreamed about what a drag-specific Cobra Jet version of the latest Mustang would be like. Ford Performance remained coy about whether or not it was working on such a car. Now a new teaser video all but confirms the existence of just such a machine.
With The SEMA Show starting on Tuesday November 3, expect to see Ford pull the cover off this drag ’Stang on the center stage of its booth during the company’s annual press conference.
“A little peek under the cloth of our big news coming tomorrow live from #FordSEMA,” the Blue Oval performance division teased on social media. “Join us at 1:30 p.m. ET, you won’t want to miss it!”
We can hardly wait to learn the specs of the next-gen Cobra Jet, but if the Watson Racing shirt shown in the video means our friends had a hand in the development and testing of this ride, we expect impressive numbers from the next-gen Cobra Jet.
We only get to see a blur of the new CJ in this video, but we expect to see more soon. Check it out…
I see a Watson shirt and a Whipple…
I should take one for a spin.
