Roush Yates teams up with JMS for plug ’n play EcoBoost power gains
By Steve Turner
If you are in the Mustang world, you are no doubt familiar with JMS Chip & Performance’s line of performance products. Likewise, if you are at all attuned to the world of EcoBoost Performance, you know about Roush Yates. It is the company responsible for building the race-ready EcoBoost 3.5-liter engine that powers Ford Performance’s Daytona Prototype racers and will eventually power the Ford GT.
So, if anyone know how to hot-rod EcoBoost vehicles, it’s Roush Yates, and the company’s performance parts division is now eying mods for street performance vehicles. To help them get there, they worked with the crew at JMS Chip & Performance to tweak the company’s existing products for even more performance.
“We feel the top-level technology within JMS complements Roush Yates perfectly.†Doug Yates, CEO & President of RYE, said. “JMS represents the Roush Yates vision of World Class Innovation for street and performance products.â€
The first two products highlighted by this partnership are JMS’s microprocessor-controlled, plug ’n play boxes—the BoostMax and PedalMax. The former, as you might guess, will pump up the boost on an EcoBoost engine, while the latter improves throttle response in just about any modern Ford. Neither of these products requires any PCM recalibration to be effective.
