If you are in the United Kingdom this weekend and are fortunate enough to attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed, you are in for quite a treat from Ford Performance. Not only will the new Ford GT and Shelby GT350 be on hand for your viewing pleasure, but the forthcoming Focus RS will also zip around the Goodwood course.
Back in February, Ford took the wraps off the latest Ford RS in Cologne, Germany, back in February. With the help of the Hoonigan himself, Ken Block, representatives from the Blue Oval showed off the tantalizing, 2.3-liter RS, which packs over 320 horsepower and a host of other cool features, like Drift Mode.
“The all-new Focus RS is a serious machine with high-performance technology and innovative engineering that sets a new benchmark for driving exhilaration on the road and track,†Raj Nair, group vice president, Global Product Development, Ford Motor Company, said at the car’s debut. “The RS line has a proud history of technical breakthroughs that have migrated to mainstream Ford vehicles to benefit all of our customers, and the new Focus RS is no exception. It’s a great example of our passion for innovation through performance, and creating vehicles that make people’s hearts pound.â€
To prove that the car is ready for the task for the Hill Climb at Goodwood, Ford has released a new video of a blue Focus RS warming up its tires, which will really get your heart pounding…
We are certain there will be more video to follow of the new RS tearing up on the 1.16-mile course this weekend—as well as footage of the former Stig, Ben Collins, wheeling the Shelby GT350R—but for now if you want to learn about the Festival of Speed, you can visit the official site right here. It’s definitely a bucket-list event for automotive enthusiasts.
