A Ford Performance video highlights the Ford GT design team

We now know that the stunning Ford GT was created in a secret lab in the corner of a basement at Ford. While it seems fitting that a supercar wild enough to serve as the Dark Knight’s ride would be created in cave, a new Ford Performance video shines a spotlight on men behind the car that has attracted the desires of red-blooded car enthusiasts all over the world.
“This car is an artifact from the future,” says one of its creators in the video intro. “A car of this caliber, it’s been done three times in 60 years,” adds another.
Designed in secret, and after hours, the forthcoming Ford GT was not only a passion play for performance, but a labor of love for its designers. Without this kind of dedication at Ford, we might not have seen such an amazing vehicle unveiled at the North American International Auto Show this past January.
We were there to see its public introduction in person, and we can say with certainty that it was a historic moment for Ford Performance that seemed to catch most of those in attendance by surprise. Knowing that, it’s great to get a window in the thought-process behind this car’s creation.
