Today Ford revealed the 2015 Mustang European performance specs

If you were wondering how the global 2015 Mustang might differ from the version we already have here in the United State, Ford revealed the official specs for the European S550 in Cologne, Germany today, with the headline news being that the Mustang GT accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under 5 seconds. That performance is said to make it the fastest accelerating high-volume Ford ever sold in Europe.

“The new Ford Mustang will be wickedly fast off the line and throw you back in your seat with a thrilling engine soundtrack,” Hermann Salenbauch, Mustang vehicle line director, said. “But Mustang isn’t just fast in a straight line. The ride and handling will be a revelation for European drivers.”

Here’s an overview of the European reveal today…

The model that set those 4.8-second standards is the 5.0-liter GT with the manual transmission, and it accelerated to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. Watch the 2015 Mustang receive a 0-100 kilomoeter speed test here…

However, the Mustang is also available in Europe with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, which gets the job done in 5.8 seconds. You can learn more about the two powertrain choices here…
