By Steve Turner

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Ford GT. These amazing cars were built to celebrate Ford’s centennial, but they deserve a celebration of their own. To mark this anniversary there is a new television series on the way. It will bring you the behind-the-scenes story of the creation of these iconic super cars.

Host Joey Limongelli will bring you the story behind the creation of the Ford GT in a multi-episode TV series.

Ford GT, An American Icon is a new, original multi-episode, nationally televised program series. The series will be available in Summer, 2015. Ford GT, An American Icon takes an in-depth look at one of the most revered American sports cars in history,” says the description of the promo video. “From its racing roots at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans to the limited availability as a consumer model, the Ford GT is legendary among car enthusiasts. We meet the engineers, technicians, drivers and current owners of this extraordinary racing machine.”

  1. Pretty awesome they’re making this show. I can’t wait to see it either. I met the host Joey at All Ford Nationals in Carlisle…pretty nice guy and definitely a Ford GT man! I bought his book, he put his “John Hancock” in it for me, we talked about his GT’s that he has…yep, a few of them.

….. It’s a good book. Approved by Ford, so the info is accurate, too.

  2. My first post on this Forum!
You will have a wonderful time at Carlisle this year. Lance and the entire staff are looking at 200 plus Ford GT’s.
From Prototypes to one offs and everything in between. Of course I will be there with CP-1, at building T with both books and new merchandise for sale.
It will be a once in a life time event if your a GT fan or owner….
Look for SEMPRE GT , It will be giving rides to kids and veterans along the way!
    Enjoy

  3. Thanks for posting, Joey. That sounds pretty awesome!

Thank you, I’ve just been turned on to this site by a regular Don Carson, who is also a Ford Gt owner. Most don’t know that ALOT of GT owners have many, Mustang and Lightning pickup trucks as well. Me I still have my 2006 LINCOLN LT pickup, 1965 mustang coupe , 1956 thunderbird 312 and a 1930 Model A rumble seat coupe.
I traveled the globe with the Shelby mustang group through Europe as well.
Anyone wanting a book can go to GTJOEY.COM, Its not a forum, its a site just for me and the merchandise…..
Thanks again, will keep you all informed as the dates for the show get closer.
    Thanks again
    Enjoy

  4. A.F.N. in Carlisle is a great show! I’ve been going for the past 8-9 years, and definitely plan on attending this year. I really enjoyed the book I bought at the show, and look at it still from time to time. I look forward to buying the other one…”Around the World in a Ford GT (almost)”, as well. You may not remember, but you let me sit in your GT and my daughter afterwards…i got some great pictures of us. Thanks for that! I was surprised how comfortable I was in it. I thought there would be a lot less room inside, but it was perfect, and the visibility good, too. Its a memory I’ll have for ever!

  5. Ramon, Remember it well, we had over 300 people sit and take pictures in the car…..Will do the same this year. I do it because it gives people a chance to dream and hopefully one day become the caretaker of these great rides.
    You gotta dream….
I did with my slot car set in the 1960’s……and now look.!
See you all there in June.

  7. Would be great, Thank you once again for the forum, all the best.
P.S. I just drove behind the new 2015 mustang coupe, dark grey and the old style 5 spoke wheels, from behind that car has got some curves…..
