We don’t recall Ford Motor Company ever emphasizing how mod-friendly its V-8 engines are, but today it further solidified just how important EcoBoost is to its future plans by sending out a press release touting how EcoBoost is not only a fuel-mileage winner in stock form, but a performance-friendly platform for enthusiasts.
The company went on to say just how great the modern advances in computer control, fuel injection, turbocharging and such are for those that want to modify their vehicles. It went on to stress the driveability and economy downsides of traditional hardware modifications on older, low-tech vehicles.
“Not all enthusiasts are concerned about maintaining their factory warranty, and for those Ford has committed to working with aftermarket tuning companies to enable the development of high-quality parts and accessories to maximize the performance of Ford vehicles,†says the press release. “Aftermarket tuners have achieved impressive performance gains for the all-new 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 in the 2015 Ford Mustang. Several tuners, including Mountune and Full-Race Motorsports, showcased their modified EcoBoost Mustangs at the 2014 SEMA Show.â€
It’s certainly interesting to see the manufacturer discussing how its cars provide a great platform for modifications, and how important it is to work with aftermarket companies. It’s really great news for all of us into modifying our new Fords that the company knows how influencial the aftermarket is on the sales of its vehicles.
“By working with respected turbocharging engine experts from around the world, including Mountune and Full-Race Motorsports, Ford is demonstrating a commitment to a new breed of forced-induction performance,†the company added. “Expect to see more exciting new options from Ford Racing in the near future.â€
Great job Full Race. Glad to see Ford working with you guys on this platform. That turbo fits in the engine bay quite nicely.
