Not that we were concerned, but it turns out that JLT Performance’s gamble paid off. The company designed its 2015 Mustang cold-air intakes long before S550s were on dealer lots. However, using CAD data is one thing, but fitting on a real car is another. As verified by a test-fit on AmericanMuscle.com’s project car, the new CAI fits like a glove.
So, if you are in the market for an induction system, the JLT version is in stock and shipping right now for $349. It features a healthy filter with a 5-inch inlet radiused for smooth air flow across the mass air sensor, and the mass air diameter clocks in at 110mm. Clearly it is ready to flow some air. Better yet, the inlet tube measures 4 inches in diameter at the throttle body, so it is ready to accept a bigger throttle body when you are.
Now, installing this CAI kit will require a tune, but as soon as calibrations are available, you can expect to read about the test results right here on SVTP.
While they were at it, AmericanMuscle.com also test-fit JLT’s popular oil separators for the Coyote engine ($119) and they fit too.
Awesome. I’m also willing to bet that this would be a great kit to use for Fox/SN95 Coyote swaps since it is designed to fit in tighter confines.
Good point, DMassey. Will be interesting to see someone try it.
