Ford Racing beats everyone to the punch with the first 10-, 11-, and 12-second S550s

Taking the world by surprise on a Friday night, Ford Racing revealed the results of its drag racing efforts. The factory’s performance division recently teased us with a screen cap of an EcoBoost Mustang hanging the hoops, and now we know that image is legit. What we also know is that Ford Racing isn’t waiting around for others to go fast in 2015 Mustangs.
Instead of sitting on the sidelines watching the race to be first in every conceivable e.t. category, Ford Racing challenged its engineers to use those parts we showed you recently to push the EcoBoost Mustang, naturally aspirated Mustang GT, and supercharged Mustang GT to run quicker than 12.99, 11.99, and 10.99 e.t.s, respectively.
Well, as you will see in this video, they pulled it off:
In some cases, they were well under their goals, but the results are impressive across the board. In case you didn’t catch all the details in the video, we’ll break down the mods and results in order for you as follows…
For the skeptics out there who doubted that teaser shot of the 2.3-liter EcoBoost Mustang yanking the wheels, it ran a 12.56-second e.t. at 109 mph. It did so with these parts:
• Driveshaft Safety Loops
• Ford Racing Development Engine Calibration
• Heavy Duty Halfshafts
• Hoosier Slicks
• Off-Road Exhaust
• Performance Rear Subframe
• Recaro Race Seat
• Weld Racing AlumaStar Drag Wheels
Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated Mustang GT clicked off an 11.77 at 116 mph with these mods:
• American Racing Headers Cobra Jet long-tube headers
• Driveshaft Safety Loops
• Ford Racing Engine Calibration
• Four-Point Roll Cage
• Heavy Duty Halfshafts
• Hoosier Slicks
• Intake mods
• Performance Rear Subframe
• Off-Road Exhaust
• Weld Racing AlumaStar Drag Wheels
• Recaro Race Seat
And, finally, the supercharged 2015 Mustang GT ran a 10.97 at 128 mph with the following mods:
• Driveshaft Safety Loops
• Ford Racing/ROUSH Performance Supercharger
• Ford Racing Engine Calibration
• Four-Point Roll Cage
• Heavy Duty Halfshafts
• Hoosier Slicks
• Performance Rear Subframe
• Recaro Race Seat
• Weld-Racing AlumaStar Drag Wheels
If this news doesn’t get you excited about the new Mustang, we don’t know what will. We can hardly wait to see the aftermarket try to eclipse these records.
I wonder how much faster the auto cars would have been? That’s impressive that they were all manual cars, definitely had the driver mod working in there favor.
The good news, and the great news. The good news is that Ford has done an outstanding job with the new 5.0 and was quick to prove that some bolt ons can produce a 10 second street/strip winner.
The GREAT news is that it was done without the benefits of the latest in TVS technology. (Ok, it’s great news for VMP Tuning and Superchargers and for everyone that knows what GEN II means.)

Excellent break-down Steve. I really find it impressive the way the cars squatted and hooked up. Can’t wait to see what kind of numbers the shops will be running. I’d love to see 9’s next week in Bowling Green, but that’s probably a bit too soon.
