To celebrate the Mustang’s move into the international marketplace, Ford has partnered with Burton Morris Studios to create a unique collection of artwork based on the iconic pony emblem. The art will showcase the flags of the countries that the Mustang will be sold in, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
“No matter where you are in the world, the Mustang pony is one of the most recognizable emblems,†Elizabeth McKelvey, licensing marketing manager, Ford Global Brand Licensing, said. “As we celebrate 50 years of Mustang as an iconic sports car, we are marking the milestone with a creative art collaboration representing its debut in international markets.â€
A pop artist renowned for his work on the “Friends” TV show and with the FIFA World Cup, Burton was charged with hand-painting and sculpting a series of 10 unique running horse emblems.
“As Ford Mustang celebrates 50 years, it has become a symbol of pop culture with the pony being one of the most recognizable icons worldwide,†Burton said. “I am thrilled to have my paintings be a part of Mustang Unites and celebrate Mustang around the world.â€
“In partnering with Burton Morris, we hope to bring together Mustang, art and pop culture in a very unique way, and capture the spirit and emotion of the iconic pony car that connects owners, fans and enthusiasts from around the world,†Elizabeth added.
Of course not everyone will be able to enjoy this art in person, but if you want to hang some Mustang art on your walls, there is an option for the rest of us. Starting today limited-edition aluminum and paper prints and posters from the Mustang Unites collection are for sale here.
