Make us laugh and you just might score an SVTP sticker

While prowling the rows at car shows, we have seen all sorts of accessories accompanying auto displays. The car show world is at least as competitive as the racing world. Every show-goer is looking for that edge to help them stand above the competition. From crying kid dolls to matching models to go-kart clones, there’s always something clamoring for a chunk of your attention.

At this year’s Mustang Week we ran across a new one. You have to admit that a big bottle with “King Cobra” on the label is a fitting accent to a Mustang Cobra. However, seeing a bottle of malt liquor sitting in a Mustang engine compartment isn’t really something you see every day—at least while the car is all in one piece.

Sure, some folks like to enjoy an adult beverage while working on their project cars. Some even like to grab one out of the cooler at the show. But we’ve never seen on on display with an engine. Certainly there are plenty of engine additives on the market, but a bottle of the high-octane stuff sitting on a Cobra just screamed “Caption Contest.”
