Businesses come and go, but you don’t keep revving your engines after 30 years unless you appreciate the people that keep your doors open. About halfway into its 30 years in the automotive business, CJ Pony Parts decided to throw a party for its patrons.
That event is the company’s annual Customer Appreciation Day, which has run consecutively for the last 14 years. The most recent CJPP CAD took place this past Saturday from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. It was open to owners of all Mustangs, Focus STs, Fiesta STs, and EcoBoost F-150s, as those are the Ford vehicles that CJ Pony Parts caters to.
Besides thanking its customers, CJPP uses the Customer Appreciation Day to give back to those in need. In recent years they have contributed significant monetary donations to The Four Diamonds Fund. Its purpose is curing childhood cancer, and the fund helps children treated by the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. Since 1972 the fund has helped 3,300 children and their families, and 100 new families receive assistance each year.
All income from the show goes to this fund, and show-goers contribute by purchasing Premium Parking, buying a CAD T-shirt, participating in charity auctions, or by putting money in donation buckets carried around the show by local high-school students. Just like last year, this year CJPP generated $30,000 for The Four Diamonds Fund.
So it was definitely a feel-good event thanks to stellar weather and a great representation of CJPP customers. Of course the main event at the Customer Appreciation Day, was the car show, which drew 428 vehicles. The company gave away awards to winners in the following classes:
• Best Early Model Mustang: Mellissa and Denny Aungst, 1965 Mustang
• Best Fox Mustang: Carlene Warner, 1991 Mustang
• Best SN-95 Mustang: Calvin Atwell III, 2002 Mustang GT
• Best S197 Mustang: Dennis Snyder, 2005 Mustang GT
• Best EcoBoost: Trevor Jackson, 2014 Focus ST
• Best of Show: Barry and Kathy Clunk, 2004 Roush Mustang
That’s a great group of show winners, and if the CJPP Customer Appreciation Day sounds like fun to you, the company will surely be doing it again next year.
When they announce the dates, we’ll be sure to let you know, but you can also check out the company’s web site for more information on the event.
looks like a good time.
