VMP Tuning offer its Gen2 TVS case for owners of standard 2.3-liter TVS blowers
By Steve Turner
If you own a TVS-supercharged modern Coyote and you were envious of the new VMP Gen2 TVS for GT500s that we tested here, your time has come. Yes, owners of modern 5.0s with early 2.3-liter TVS blowers can now retrofit their existing TVS rotor pack into a Gen2 housing for an affordable upgrade.
“Gen2 was designed from a clean sheet of paper and the target was to eclipse the factory TVS offering on the ’13-’14 GT500, the most powerful factory Mustang in history,†Justin Starkey, president and owner of VMP Tuning & Superchargers, said.
“… And our Stage 1, 2, and 3 VMP TVS kits for 2011-and-newer 5.0 Mustangs have been wildly successful, with a number of customers running 9-second street cars,” he added. “But, when they got wind of Gen2, they immediately wanted in on the action. So, we developed this retrofit program to support them.â€
So, if you own a 2011-and-newer Mustang, Boss 302, or Roush with a TVS blower, you can upgrade to the more efficient Gen2 case for only $1,499, which is about half the price of a fully assembled VMP Gen2 for the GT500.
Sounds pretty great right? Well if you are daunted by the idea of a rotor pack swap, VMP will demonstrate just how easy it is at this year’s Mustang Week. On Friday July 18 at 2 p.m., the VMP staff will perform the retrofit on JLT Performance’s project Mustang—right in the JLT booth at the huge Mustang Week car show!
Who knows? SVTP might even be on hand to cover the swap…
